            Cambodia is a Southeast Asian nation with landscapes of low-lying plains, the Mekong Delta, mountains and Gulf of Thailand coastline. Its busy capital, Phnom Penh, is home to the art deco Central Market, the glittering Royal palace and the National Museum’s historical and archaeological exhibits. In the country’s northwest lie ruins of Angkor Wat, a massive stone temple complex built during the Khmer Empire.

            The capital and largest city is Phnom Penh, Khmer pronunciation: Formerly known as Chaktomuk (Khmer: ចតុមុខ) “Four Faces”, is the capital and most populous city of Cambodia. Located on the banks of the Tonle Sap and Tonle Mekong. Phnom Penh has been the national capital since French colonization of Cambodia, and has grown to become the nation’s center of economic and industrial activities, as well as the center of security, politics, cultural heritage, and diplomacy of Cambodia.

Climate
            Cambodia has four Seasons
1.      November-February          : cool + dry
2.      March-May                       : hot + dry
3.      June-August                      : hot + wet
4.      September-Early Nov       : cool + wet
            Cambodia has a tropical climate with warm temperatures throughout the year. There are two seasons in Cambodia. The northeast monsoon season runs from December through April, bringing sunny, dry weather especially in January and February. The rains comes when the winds shift into the southwest monsoon from May to November, with the most precipitation in the months of September and October.
            The best months to visit Cambodia are December and January, with dry weather and lower humidity levels- of course, this is also the busiest time of year so expect some crowds and higher prices.
            As of 1 January 2017, the population of Cambodia was estimated to be 15,958,693 people. This is an increase of 1.62% (254,873 people) compared to the population of 15 703,820 the year before. In 2016 the natural increase was positive, as the number of births exceeded the number id deaths by 286,281. Due to external migration, the population declined by 31,208. The gender ratio of the total population was 0.959 (959 males per 1,000 females) which are lower than global sex ratio. The global sex ratio in the world was approximately 1016 males to 1000 female as of 2016.

Military 
 

         The Royal Cambodian Army is a part of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces. It has ground forces which numbered 85,000 divided into eleven divisions of infantry, with integrated armour and artillery support. The Royal Army is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of National Defence.

         The Royal Cambodian Navy is the naval warfare service branch of the Armed Forces of Cambodia and one of the three uniformed services of the Kingdom of Cambodia. it has an estimated of 4,000 active personnel and operates 228 boats and ships in active service. it is commanded by Admiral Tea Vinh and Sails under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of National Defense.
